Struggling with Python

This might be of a mild interest to computer geeks only.
Fair warning: this will all seem banal and trivial to someone who knows Python.

While trying to run my very first Python program (helloworld.py, what else?) on Google Apps Engine (don't ask, it's work-related :) I encountered the following error:



Here's the code that generated this impressive-looking screen shot:


Now please spend 10 sec trying to understand what's the problem. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10. Ok, ready?
Answer: notice the cursor in the source code? That line has to be indented 4 spaces more.

Now (letting alone the sheer concept of using indentation for - well, for anything but readability!), would it hurt the interpreter to just hint at that possibility?
